Default courtyard is lame and bugged

Dunno where to post it, but after a couple weeks without doing HA, i went with a group of friends for a couple runs...

everything was going fine until we reach courtyard, where one of the teams were bugging the gates

looks like the new strategy in this map is just to sit near the gate button and click really fast so no one can pass through the gate.

this is a nice way to keep people playing ha, first you need to play against spiritway 90% of the matches and now you need to bypass bugs in lame maps...

just my 2 cents...

Your going through the gate? Run around. The only time to ever use the gate is to pick up your ghost.

Although, its LOTS of fun shutting the gate on teh ghost, watching him start to run around the long way, open the gate, he turns back, and repeat... LOTS of fun

Never seen that happen...but something else I think should be changed that isn't just in Courtyard, is that you can block a Ghostly Hero with one person or, even more conveniently, a pet locked onto a ghostly hero.

Yes, I know you can move it around the pet but it takes time and if it is on a small stairway it can be slightly more difficult to do in certain situations.

thats not what im saying....back in the day there was a delay to open/close the gate. now u can just spam the gate and the ghost wont move since ur opening and closing the gate really fast. they propably introduced that shit in one of those stupids updates

I've solo blocked dozens of people in HA. I don't really think this is an issue if people want to autorun forward instead of clicking to move.

random comment ftw....and we won that match, cause we did the same to both teams after killing their ghost.....u let the guy that is with the ghost pass the gate and them u bug the gate

Oh I know what you're saying tricolor. Happened to us at least 2-3 times in the past few months. When you team dies out, some thumpers tend to sit on lever for the gate on your side. Just constantly clicking, doing this blocking effect preventing base rez ppl from entering the main stage/alter directly thru gate. I didn't know until some thumpers show me in those battles. Good thing is we did the same s%it to those spiritway ppl. It's not really a bug, but it's certainly not fun when someone do that to your team.

Most likely it's a concern if one of the better players in this game is posting about it. Even though I don't even HA anymore, I'd still like Anet to fix it, since it's pretty stupid.

and just to add to andrew post...

im pretty sure that was added in one of those updates...
back in the day there was a delay between opening and closing gates, not as big as the one in golden gate(forgot the old name of the map ;[) but im pretty sure that there was a delay.

Yeah, I agree. This seems to be an issue that has arisen lately. Either that, or it took people this long to find it.

Well, I know this isn't about HA but it seems that the gates on Frozen seem to have the exact same glitch.

Yeah frozen also suffers from that im sure of it. Really annoying as it never used to be like that.

Also, there was another bug that I saw. We were playing against law and epic iirc. One teams ghost capped altar from that teams' gate. Other two ghosts were dead. Luckily, we had enough points and we won. I am quite sure I screenied it and will post it when I go back home.

Just wanted you to know we are looking into a fix for the gate bug. Don't have an ETA, but we are working on a fix.

Fixed a bug in the Courtyard map of Heroes’ Ascent that allowed the gate levers to open and close the gates faster than intended.
